A wealth of good news will fill this update… so soak it up. First off, guess who is employed. That’s right, I got the Conference Assistant job for this summer, free room/board here in Eugene, plus $200 a week; not that I didn’t want to go home, but I think it is a good move for me work up here during the summer, the use of a 20 million dollar recreation center is a bonus. More good news: Anna and I went to Alten Baker park today (technically yesterday) and fed the ducks, geese, seagulls, and the local nutria. We spent most of the time ducking seagulls and pulling our fingers back from the snapping jaws of the geese. We enjoyed great conversations about life, philosophy, and marsupials (long story). It was nice to actually get off campus, even if just for a bit. Even more good news: I started a new routine for myself, 100 sit-ups and 50 push-ups before I go to bed every night… I’m keeping up with it so far, 4 days strong; and am I sore of what… most mornings the only thing my arms can do is hang, and even that is hard.
Its now two in the morning, and I am done with my rounds (yes, I am on duty this weekend) as well as my torture… er… exercises, so I think I shall be heading off to bed, I’ve got another full day of duty as well as taking my hall up to Willamette Pass for a day.
