Everyday seems a little closer, going faster than a roller coaster
by Chris ~ April 19th, 2005. Filed under: teaching.Well, we shook on it, which I guess makes it official. I have signed on to stay on staff at Cottage Grove High School. For a couple of weeks now that offer has been on the table for be to join up again, I had been holding out for a little while to see if there were any other developments. Well, all of the developments appeared to be pointing back to CGHS. There is talk that I would be the person in charge of teaching English (or Language Arts if we are going to be politically correct) to students within the Special Education department. Thankfully, this would mean that I would not have to teach math or geography anymore… not that there is anything wrong with that, it’s just not for me. I’m sure there are many people out there who are happy teaching math and geography, but I just can’t see myself doing it.
Soon, Jess and I will start looking for a place to live outside of Cottage Grove (defintely not in Eugene). This means that I will still be close to Meg and football games, while Jess will still be near her sister Heidi in Corvallis. As well, I love the school district and my school. These past couple of months have been trying, but more importantly a valuable experience. I feel as though I found a school district that is not only warm and responsive, but also small enough that I can stop in at the district office and talk with the superintendent. I think that I have a unique experience at my feet and I should take advantage of it.
Plus they gave me a Palm Pilot. I’m a cheap date when it comes to technology.
