Boy howdy, I’m tired. Saturday, Pratt called and said he was going to be down in the area and wanted to know if I wanted to hang out. I said, “sure” and made the off-hand comment about bringing his Playstation 3 down to the Grove. Once he arrived around ten at night, we hooked up the PS3 and started to play his newly purchased Grand Theft Auto 4. Actually, the PS3 had to download a bunch of things before we played, so we a sat and groused for twenty minutes while the machine downloaded and reset itself repeatedly. Then we played. Read more »

There is no dark side of the moon really

This weekend, Jess and I were over in Bend for her mom’s birthday.  One of the best things about their ranch is that it is far enough away to limit some of the light pollution from Bend and Redmond so you get a nice view of the stars.  As I was trying to fall asleep, [...] Read more »

That was good night, except for the chili beer (the pepper, not the pseudo-soup)… which I highly un-recommend, unless you want to see someone have [...] Read more »

I never ever saw the northern lights

Another twenty hours in the car and I am back in Eugene.
A rather recent plan was hatched by Pratt and Derek Bell to go catch the Cal/Oregon game down in Berkely. Thankfully, the plan for them to leave Portland after 4:30 in the afternoon was scrapped for a much more reasonable 11:00 am. We had [...] Read more »

I need a photo opportunity, I need a shot at redemption

Over this past week I’ve had a sprinkling of social life–it’s nice for a change. I had the pleasure of having a very nice lunch with Shelby at the Glennwood. Through a couple of reschedules we finally got to hang out. Definitely a good time. Talked mostly about wedding stuff which makes everything seem so [...] Read more »
