This weekend Jess and I went to her parents’ ranch. And, as it annual happens, I’ve come back sun-burned. Even with the rain and clouds, I get burned. Damn my poreclain-like complexion.

On Sunday, we had lunch with my sister to celebrate her birthday, then Jess, Pratt, my mom, and myself drove to downtown Portland to see Barack Obama speak. We were surprised at how realitively easy it was for us to get a decent place to stand for the 3 hours we were there. After an introduction by Rep. Earl Blumenauer (Pratt was hoping for Greg Oden), then the whole Obama family walked on stage:

Yesterday, on the sole day of sunshine this week, Jess and I drove down to Southern Oregon to hike up Table Rock. Once we were on top and had hiked to the western edge of the rock, we had lunch sitting 800 feet above Southern Oregon. After that we walked along the southern edge. All in all, kind of a hard hike, but very rewarding.
